Call for papers

The main theme of the ENC-GNSS 2009 is focused on ‘Applications and Services’.

The Conference includes three Plenary Sessions:

- the first Plenary Session will be held to inform the community of the status  of the major GNSS programmes;
- the second one will deal with the perspectives of economic results from public investments;
- the third one will address the emergency of new GNSS applications and services.
Several sessions in parallel tracks will deal with up-to-date topics in navigation, along with Poster Sessions during free times.

Under the main theme “Applications and Services”, topics of relevance for ENC-GNSS 2009 include, but are not limited to:

  • Aeronautical applications and services
  • Augmentation systems
  • From GIOVE A to GIOVE B and follows
  • Galileo interoperability security, authentication and certification issues
  • Non satellite outdoor navigation systems
  • GNSS operational experience vs. Services
  • Governmental uses of navigation satellites
  • Impact of ICT on navigation services’ market
  • Heavy and dangerous transports via truck, rail/sea and relevant services
  • Auto vehicles mobility applications and services
  • GNSS role in support to maritime navigation

  • Real time kinematics, timing and synchronization applications
  • Meteorology and climatology applications and prospective services
  • Role of GNSS in the scientific uses of precise time dissemination and distribution
  • Geology, geodesy, civil works and GIS integration
  • Indoor localization and mobility applications

  • GNSS user terminals hardware and software technologies 
  • System simulation signal in space: prospects for future navigation constellations

Abstract Submission
Original, previously unpublished contributions are solicited on the topics listed above.
Papers must be submitted through the EDAS online submission system. Email submissions will NOT be accepted.
Acceptance of abstracts by the TPC will be done on the basis of extended abstracts (1000 words or two A4 pages). Authors of accepted abstracts will be notified within two weeks from submission date.

Please, note that accepted papers will be published in the proceedings only if the final camera-ready version is accompanied with a regular registration and payment by at least one of the authors, and a signed copyright form.

Abstract Guidelines
Abstracts must be in English and must include:
Title of the paper
Surnames and first names, affiliations, postal and email addresses of the authors, the indication of the lead author.
Length: 1000 words or two A4 page format (maximum)
Font: Times; Sizes 11; Line spacing: single

Important Dates

  • Abstracts submission deadline: February 16, 2009
  • Notification of paper acceptance: March 2, 2009
  • Final paper submission: April 24, 2009
  • Conference date: May 3-6, 2009
